SCROLL DOWN DUDE!
VMG DIFF
FIX!
RACE IT DON'T BREAK IT!!
Ok here i will show you how to fix the VMG
diff once and for all!

Note i will try to explain this as simple as possible!
This pic shows
what plagues the VMG diff & this is an almost new car!
notice by red spot
plastic rotating on plastic not lubed from factory
fusing together NOT
TO GOOD as you can see the white powder!!
I will show you how to
properly lube and assemble the axle later..

First you need to
take the diff out of your car it will simply
pull apart
like shown in this picture.
I used Parma
homeset lube it works great.. But for all out
performance i suggest cleaning
out the diff and get all the
grease that was in there out if there was any
and use
Team Associated Black Grease # 6588 This is used for
there RC kits
It is a very sticky grease and it will make
your diff work much better than
if lubed with silicone
type grease.. But the Parma grease also works
nice!
Grease all gears as shown!
ALSO add a drop
of oil to each bevel gear where
the tiny metal pin goes through them
both!
Very
important!!
You can substitute the grease and use a few drops of oil
on
this part if you wish.. But i like using grease here!
Grease behind the bevel
gear on the plastic shaft!
To do this simply pull the diff casing away
towards
the tire as shown..Put a nice coat of lube on it!!
DO THIS ON BOTH SIDES OF THE
DIFF!!
Very
Important!!
You can substitute the grease and use a few drops of oil
on
this part if you wish.. But i like using grease here also!
Pull the bushing
away from the diff case as far as possible
as shown in the pic.. Now put
a nice amount of grease here!
DO THIS ON
BOTH SIDES OF THE DIFF!!
Now put like
2 drops of oil on the axle here
making sure it drips down into the
bushing!
DO THIS ON BOTH SIDES OF
THE DIFF!!
Now clean your
diff casing before the glue job!
Clean your diff casing with a cleaner
rubbing alcohol works
fine here! make sure you clean all the way around the
areas marked with the
red dot!
Here is the
diff assembled correctly!
(not glued together yet)
After you put the
diff together properly go around the
diffs seams on both sides where you
snapped it back together
with a light bead of CA glue (super
glue) making sure to
cover the seams.. I use a tooth pic to spread it
smooth.
this holds everything together and tight!

Apply a generous amount
of goop glue on bushings by
using a pin trying to go all the
way around all bushings on all the
sides of the bushing where it
snaps in place the 4 spots
as
shown this holds it all
together tightly and stops flex..I use the goop glue
because it can also be
removed if needed..
LOOK AT NEW PHOTO'S BELOW!
DON'T BE AFRAID TO PUT THE GLUE ON!!
as you
can see i use a generous amount!
be sure not to glue the bushing to the
gear pumpkin!

Now before you put the chassis together apply
a thin bead
of goop glue as shown here bellow.
PLEASE DO STEPS LISTED
BELLOW THIS FIRST!!
this is an update I added!!
Make sure
to go right across the edge of motor with the glue
this will help
stiffen her up!!
A MUST DO!!
Here i use grease and put it on all
areas shown in red.
Make sure to put a coat of grease right where the
guide
wires rub on the axle!!
The VMG magnet flop syndrome fix!
Here i put a crumpled
tiny piece of paper down
into the magnet holder I put just enough so
that
when i push the magnet back in it just raises up
a hair out of the
holder this makes your magnet stay
down where it needs to be ! IT WORKS GREAT!
KEEP IT OILED PROPERLY AND KEEP IT
FAST!
Oil by
these spots marked above periodically by
simply adding a few drops of
oil to them.
Oil the gears, the axle where it goes through
the bushing and
also in the side of bushing
that hits up against
the diff housing!
NOW put the car back together oil the gears and let all the glue
dry ..
Now you will see your VMG "FLY" like never
before!!
I
would like to THANK my buddy LSintegra94

message boards
